People in the electorate are concerned by the state of our regional roads

People in the electorate are concerned by the state of our regional roads and highways and I support the strong push for the introduction of a ‘royalities for regions’ program where the money that is earned here be spent here to improve not only the infrastructure throughout the region but to set up skills training centres so our young people can stay in the towns and cities that they grew up in.

We need to stop the wasteful State government programs - start with stopping the fluorideation of the water supplies.

The roads between Mundubbera and Bundaberg/Maryborough are worse now than when they were flooded. The damage to suspensions and wheel alignments must be making a bob or two for local repairers.

The fact that 6 and 8 lane highways can be built between the Gold Coast and Brisbane and 4 lanes to the Sunshine Coast when our national highway resembles a goat track from Buderim north to Cooktown, when more and more trucks, buses and grey nomads are using it daily, should be enough reason to sack any government. Do we have to wait until fatalities exceed a certain number before something is done. My Mum always said prevention is better than cure.

It's good to hear that you are improving! I'm sorry it's been rough. If you ever need soemone to chase the little guy, let me know. We had a good time I hope that this is the last page in the illness story and that recovery comes quickly and fully. All the best to you!
